The Baby Borrowers- recap

When I first heard about an idea for a show that allowed teen couples to watch a real baby to discourage them from getting pregnant, I've gotta admit, it sounded way to Montel Williams for me. Last night I stumbled across it. How wrong I was.

When I first heard about an idea for a show that allowed teen couples to watch a real baby to discourage them from getting pregnant, I've gotta admit, it sounded way to Montel Williams for me. Last night I stumbled across it. How wrong I was.

This show was hilarious. I knew I was in for a treat when one teen girl (one who desperately wanted a little bundle of joy to call her own)wouldn't even wear the faux pregnant belly suit to simulate being pregnant for 24 hours. She thought she looked fat. And it was uncomfortable. I understand her concerns because personally, pregnancy made me look 10lbs thinner and felt so good. Like a 24 hour massage. But then again there's no period so....bonus.

Another side-splitting moment was when the "dads" came back from work. One couple argued upon his return about who would watch the baby. Teen mom probably thought daddy would walk through the door, just happy to see her face after a long day and wisk the baby away leaving her to soak in a bubble bath with champagne. Teen dad probably though he'd get a hero's welcome after a hard day at work and be treated to a nice four-course meal while mom held the baby in one hand and stroked his...hair with the other. Ha! No. Bickering ensued. "I'm tired too"'s were thrown about. I fell off the couch laughing.

I don't fault the teens for their behavior. Of course they're not ready. No one is ready for a baby when they come but being over 18 generally helps things.

I'm not sure I'll watch next week (hate committing to shows) but kinda want to see what happens when they get toddlers, seeing as how I have a two year-old who loves to sing a song she created all by herself entitled "Mean mean mommy." Ah the joys.
